seen in paris: stencil by william benhamou [translation: give back to art the simplicity of not being simple]
cut together a video of my paris trip. super late on uploading, but enjoy nonetheless.
i had to stop when i walked past these sculptures in the window of a closed gallery in the marais. they looked like extras from corpse bride, but they’re actually art by christophe goussault.
if art had a facebook “like” button, i would have pressed it on this:
the palais de tokyo, a contemporary art museum in paris, had these muppets-meet-tim burton statues by théo mercier on display as part of their dynasty exhibit, in collaboration with their neighboring museum, musée d’art moderne.
french department store printemps collaborated with the centre pompidou on the museum’s design shop, and was selling this jewelry featuring karl lagerfeld, jackie o, and david bowie.
the girl and i grabbed lunch at the colette water bar, and got his and hers beverages (though hers was the diet coke with the karl lagerfeld silhouette and mine was the dita von teese perrier).
sometimes it takes going to paris to find something from new york. in the palais de tokyo’s incredibly well curated gift shop i stumbled upon a t-shirt for the fictional pency prep school, the almost alma mater of holden coalfield, by nyc based company create build destroy.
infographics as art: saw these pieces by artists the guerilla girls on display at the centre pompidou.
