mission accomplished

after almost two months, my charity:water campaign came to an end today, and i’m pleased to report that i reached (and, by $8 exceeded) my goal of raising $5,000 to fund a well in a developing nation for my 25th birthday.  i want to thank everyone who donated, spread the word about it, or even just read about the cause.

the following is an excerpt from the email i received informing me of the news.  i think it pretty much sums up the importance of what we’ve done:

$5008 can give 250 people clean water for 20 years. water will change everything for these people. disease will dramatically be reduced. children will be able to go to school and get an education. men and women will be able to dedicate more time to their jobs, increasing productivity and lowering the poverty level.

again.  thank you.
