dream office. belongs to tatsuhiko “rya’ akashi, ceo of medcom toys. more at todd selby’s amazing site.
caught lady gaga’s fame ball tour at radio city last night. it was - no surprise - an incredibly impressive spectacle. her show has come a long way from her days at the bitter end, and even farther from the days we shared the stage together in camp plays. took a bunch of photos, which you can see here.

thursday night’s julian casablancas show at terminal 5. personally, i’d take the strokes at bowery ballroom circa is this it over julian solo at t5 in 2010 any day. more of my shots from the show here.
iggy pop’s préliminaires (2009). today called for a record by an aging punk rock icon making new orleans jazz-inspired record with french song covers.

attended last night’s opening reception for “never can say goodbye,” a series of art installations inspired by, and housed in, the former tower records space on broadway and fourth street.
the art in the show, put together by no longer empty, an organization orchestrating art events in vacant new york retail spaces, was hit or miss, and the concept that music as a physical medium is a thing of the past - now more a collectible and museum artifact than an everyday item - was neither eye opening nor groundbreaking. but, as a whole, the art pieces’ recreation of an alternate universe’s record store was amusing to walk through, if not a depressing reminder that the space’s original tenant is closed for business.
thanks to kevin patrick for making me his +1.

tried out baohaus tonight with perry, a new taiwanese steamed bun spot on the lower east side. aside from the food being absolutely amazing, what i really loved was that you could tell that the owners and chefs had opened this place for fun, and because they really enjoyed the food they were making and sharing it with others.
ninja turtles hats. can’t decide if i’d want raphael or michaelangelo - it’s cool but rude vs party dude. tough call (via).
started off 2010 with a performance by courtney love at the standard hotel’s boom boom room. i credit hole with making me want to work in the music business, and keep a guitar signed by courtney love in my office. so, i was pretty stoked to ring in the new year with a gig of her’s. it was more of a black tie affair than a rock show, but i stood front and center, camera out. more shots here.
the official end of project365. december, a few days into january.
